The USDA Forest Service has legislative authority to recruit and fill Permanent (Career/Career-Conditional), Temporary, and Term Appointments under the USDA Demonstration Project. Under this authority, any U.S. citizen may apply.
This position is located in the Northern Region, Region 1, Idaho Panhandle National Forests, Coeur d''Alene River Ranger District. The duty location for this position will be Coeur d''Alene or Smelterville, Idaho; management will determine duty location at the time a selection is made.
This Forestry Technician position serves as the District''s Database Manager, and may serve as a Forest-wide resource. The incumbent provides technical expertise for the Forest Service Activity Tracking System (FACTS); updates and maintains the Field Sampled Vegetation (FSVeg) and Threatened, Endangered, and Sensitive Plant, and Invasive Species (TESP/IS) databases for tracking accomplishments and monitoring the districts Invasive species yearly program of work; performs as the Knutsen-Vandenberg (KV) Coordinator and maintains KV, Brush Disposal (BD) and Salvage Sale Fund (SSF) plans.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
