Purpose of Position:
The General Manager oversees all aspects of the restaurant.
The General Manager maintains staffing levels in all front of house departments and manages performance in all dining room positions, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage all aspects of the employee life cycle from interviewing, selection, hiring, training, performance management documentation, and termination.
Responsible for the financial performance of the restaurant and for hitting targeted sales and budgeted profits on a monthly basis.
Responsible for maintaining superior service levels in the restaurant.
Performance issues are addressed and guest complaints are responded to and resolved in a timely manner - both in the moment and guest follow-up.
Develops their management team and cultivates an environment where team members can be successful and grow their careers - ensures their team have the tools they need to succeed and feel support at all times.
Writes schedules according to the weekly forecast and occupancy of the resort to ensure every guest receives an outstanding experience.
Rewards the team for exceptional results and great guest feedback and celebrates accomplishments with the team.
Executes a weekly manager meeting with their team to ensure proper planning and execution of all operations and upcoming events.
Attends weekly staff meetings and communicates news to the rest of the team.
Works cross-functionally with all departments - including, but not limited to, Accounting, HR, Engineering, Janitorial, Laundry, and the sales team to address any issues or opportunities in the restaurant.
The GM reports to the Director of Food and Beverage, and the Assistant Food and Beverage Director.
